Father, all-powerful God,
your eternal Word took fleshon our earth
when the Virgin Mary placed her life
at the service of your plan.
Lift our minds in watchful hope
to hear the voice whichannounces his glory
and open our minds to receive the Spirit
who prepares for his coming.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
O Key of David, O royal Power of Israel,controlling at your will the gate of heaven:
Come, break down the prison walls of death
for those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death;
and lead your captive people into freedom.
